Clone Your Crush ("we", "our", or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information -- your name and email address provided via Google Sign-In.
• Chat messages -- text messages you send and receive within conversations with AI companions.
• Photos -- images you upload to create a companion clone (see Photo Privacy below).
• Usage data -- interaction patterns, feature usage, device type, and session duration to improve the experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

• AI companionship -- to power realistic, context-aware conversations with your AI companions.
• Personalization -- to tailor companion personalities, conversation memory, and recommendations to your preferences.
• Safety -- to detect crisis situations and provide appropriate helpline referrals and support resources.

3. Photo Privacy

Photos you upload to create a companion clone are processed to generate an AI avatar and are automatically deleted within 60 seconds of upload. We do not store your original photos permanently on our servers. Only the generated avatar image is retained for your companion profile.

4. Data Retention

Chat messages are stored to maintain conversation continuity and companion memory across sessions. You may delete your message history at any time from within the app. When you delete your account, all associated data -- messages, companions, preferences, and tokens -- is permanently removed.

5. AI & LLM Processing

Your messages are processed by third-party large language model (LLM) providers -- including OpenAI, Anthropic, and DeepSeek -- to generate AI companion responses. Messages are sent to these providers in real time and are subject to their respective data processing policies. We do not sell your data to any third party.

6. Children's Privacy

Clone Your Crush is intended for users aged 17 and older. We enforce an age gate during sign-up. If we learn that a user under 17 has created an account, we will promptly delete their account and all associated data.

7. Crisis Support

The App includes automatic crisis detection. If our system identifies messages that may indicate a user is in distress, we surface relevant helpline referrals (such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) and supportive resources. These detections are handled locally and are not shared with third parties.

8. Data Security

We protect your data using industry-standard measures including:

• JWT-based authentication for all API requests.
• Encrypted data storage at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+).
• Role-based access controls for internal systems.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access -- request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Delete -- request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Export -- download your data in a portable format.
